As part of our ongoing engagement in the global Rise Against Big Tech (RABT) campaign, we’re co-hosting the second free online workshop about file sharing without tech oligopolies. We’d love to see you there!
We’ll spend an hour and 15 minutes together learning about the features we actually need from a document sharing service, exploring values-aligned software options that exist today, and hearing real experiences from folks who have made the transition away from Google Drive, Dropbox, and similar platforms.
Feel free to spread the invite to members of your organizations and coalitions. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re just starting to think about alternatives or you’re already on your journey away from Big Tech, just don’t forget to register.
A big thank you to the hundreds of people who registered for our first workshop on how to facilitate a session on leaving Big Tech with your organization. It was refreshing and inspiring to experience such a vibrant community of people working together towards a technology future that centers humans. If you missed that session, you can still access the workshop curriculum and read the notes from the session.
The document sharing landscape doesn’t have to be dominated by corporations that treat your data as training data for their AI systems or monetize your collaboration patterns. There are genuine alternatives out there like Nextcloud and other open-source solutions that give you and your team real control over your documents while still offering the collaboration features you need.
The Rise Against Big Tech Campaign is a coalition of movement technology providers organizing resistance to Big Tech. In practice, we’re building real pathways for organizations and individuals to reclaim their digital infrastructure, and workshops like this one are part of that broader effort. You can learn more about the initiative at riseagainstbig.tech.
We’re looking forward to learning and sharing together!
