Workshop nr. 2: Document Sharing and Collaboration without Big Tech

We’ll spend an hour and 15 minutes together learning about the features we actually need from a document sharing service, exploring values-aligned software options that exist today, and hearing real experiences from folks who have made the transition away from Google Drive, Dropbox, and similar platforms.

It was refreshing and inspiring to experience such a vibrant community of people working together towards a technology future that centers humans. The document sharing landscape doesn’t have to be dominated by corporations that treat your data as training data for their AI systems or monetize your collaboration patterns. There are genuine alternatives out there like Nextcloud and other open-source solutions that give you and your team real control over your documents while still offering the collaboration features you need.
